The Role of CEO

As CEO of Krösatågen AB, you will have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and managing the newly formed company. With the passenger experience at the center, you are responsible for ensuring that Krösatågen continues to connect southern Sweden and create opportunities to live, work, and study across county borders.

The role involves working at the interface between politics and operations. You have overall responsibility for developing and nurturing collaborations with our owners and clients. You will work closely with the political board and serve as chairman of Krösatågen's management group, which consists of the regions' traffic directors. The work includes developing and maintaining structure and long-term sustainability in operations. You will lead Krösatågen with clear and sustainable leadership, striving for good cohesion, high morale, and a good working environment for the company's employees.

In the role of CEO, you will operate in a complex collaborative environment where success is built on strong and trusting relationships with a large number of external stakeholders. You will maintain close and continuous dialogue with the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) and the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) regarding infrastructure, capacity, safety, and regulations. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the contracted operator and maintenance partners to ensure a stable and high-quality delivery to our passengers. The role also involves active cooperation with regional transport companies and other actors within public transport to create efficient and attractive travel chains. You will have ongoing contact with municipalities, businesses, and other regional stakeholders to contribute to sustainable regional development and increased commuting. You will represent Krösatågen in contact with residents and the media.

The position of CEO is a permanent appointment with a start date to be agreed upon.

About Krösatågen

Krösatågen is a regional rail system that has been transporting passengers in Småland and neighboring counties since 1985. It is formed by Region Jönköping, Kalmar County, Halland County, Region Skåne, Region Kronoberg, and Region Blekinge. In 2027, we will establish Krösatågen AB to develop Krösatågen in line with future demands for sustainable and attractive transport. Krösatågen AB will contribute to increased quality and long-term capacity building for the development of regional rail traffic in southern Sweden.

Your Profile

For the CEO position, we are looking for someone with the ability to create and maintain good collaboration and relationships. You have experience in management and leadership; additionally, experience in leading managers or process owners is viewed positively. We believe you have great commitment, solid experience, and a very good understanding of the railway industry.

You have the ability to navigate complex contexts and create momentum through dialogue and trust. We believe you have a long-term perspective, focus on residents and passengers, and are driven to lead an operation with both public and commercial elements. You are solution-oriented and approach stakeholders with different perspectives in an attentive manner. This position suits you if you stand secure and stable in your leadership role. You contribute to a work climate characterized by openness, trust, and lack of pretension.

Experience in a role that has given you an understanding of how the interaction between politics and administration works is an advantage. Experience in negotiation, public procurement, legal processes, contract management, and business relationships is an asset in this role. Likewise, an understanding of economic frameworks, revenue models, and business trade-offs.

Your educational background includes a university degree or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways. You find it easy to express yourself both verbally and in writing in Swedish, and when necessary, you handle English well as a working language. We will place great emphasis on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
